There might be many parameters for Doctors to ascertain the state of a patient’s health, but none of them paint such an accurate picture of as Vital Signs do. It helps doctors get key insights into their patients ailments by looking at the basic indicators of general health – their temperature, respiratory rate, blood pressure, pulse and weight.
For a large number of illnesses, their effects on the human body can be measured through the changes in their Vital Signs. But for a doctor to know the degree of change, the Vital Signs need to be recorded and monitored over a period of time. Earlier, this was done on paper and stored in the patient’s medical file. You already know the limitations of this – risk of manual error, files getting lost or damaged, or the lack of visualising that data.
Since this is such a important tool in a doctor’s diagnostic arsenal, we found the lack of a proper tool to monitor and analyse these trends to be a problem – both for the doctor and the patient. And we are always looking for an chance to make their lives easier through technology. So we came up with Vital Signs integrated into the Electronic Medical Records in Practo Ray.
With Vital Signs you can monitor:
- Pulse / Heart rate
- Temperature
- Blood pressure
- Weight
- Respiratory Rate
Every time your patient walks in for a consultation, you can record their relevant Vital Signs, and store it in the EMR. It’ll look like this:
And for every subsequent patient visit, you can record their parameters. This then gets automatically plotted on a graph, which shows you the state of flux of the patients health.
You already know that this can help identify chronic medical problems, aid you in making an accurate diagnosis, and keep your patients updated about the state of their health. If you use Practo Ray, you can access this from under the Records tab. If you are not a user of Practo Ray, you can just take a free trial to check this feature out for yourself.
